The Welcome To Carbondale Garden

At an intersection marked b y the fast traffic of Highways 82 & 133, the "Welcome To Carbondale!" Garden is just sinking its new roots.
Genny’s Garden was a smashing success. People honk and holler, driving by: “I love this!!” I got inquiries: “What is that awesome ground cover shrub?” The Town of Carbondale issued a Proclamation, “In celebration of Garden Beauty, Creativity and Generosity.” The Association of Professional Landscape Designers gave it an award for it’s sustainable western spirit.
It rather felt like a good concept- neighborhood gardens to promote community. Why not do another one?

The Welcome Garden broke ground in June, 2011. Evolving developed the planting plan and has managed the planting and maintenance.
Four new trees, planted by the Town through the Kay Brunnier Tree Fund, will soon brush against the highway skyline. One thousand two hundred bulbs are going in the ground, Autumn 2011. In Spring 2012, more perannials and an array of grasses, such as Little Bluestem, Prairie Dropseed and Tufted Hairgrass are to be planted. Plants are new and tiny, but we have BIG DREAMS!
