“WHY IT WORKS” WEDNESDAYS
A broad gesture of a single species- in this case, Missouri Primrose- can make up for the whimsy of a riotous garden.
Genny’s Garden is an intimate garden. It’s designed for People. Whether that’s the renters in the log cabin, or lovers walking hand in hand, headed to Hestia, Genny’s Garden is a complexity of ornamental grasses, old standby wild flowers and native forbes, like rabbitbrush.
The variety of plants could look like a mess, but layering the foreground organizes that: a sweep of primrose, then Pawnee Buttes Sandcherries and an arc of farm stone. Without these broad gestures, the garden indeed would simply be a mess!
That’s WHY IT WORKS.
